Thursday Transitional Kinder (Class 1) 4.30pm - 6.00pm
Here, the youngsters are closely monitored for the Boys' or Girls' Development Squads or for advancement into the Recreational Class Structure. We usually recommend promotion to this class if a child shows potential or at about the age of 6. In past experience children who have not had time to adjust to full time school find it hard to cope with this class straight after a long day at primary school. However, this is only a guideline and there will always be exceptions. All promising youngsters are moved to our Thursday Transitional Class. The children in this class have the opportunity to use both the full size and Mini Gym apparatus.

Saturday Basic (Class 2) 9.00am - 11.00am
The boys and girls in this class work on full size Olympic Apparatus and are coached  basic gymnastic skills in order to prepare them for the demands of our higher classes. Our aims are to teach the children to become aware of their abilities to build confidence, to teach good posture and to promote discipline and fitness. In these classes we introduce "Stamina, Strength and Flexibility Conditioning" to prepare children for the more advanced skills that will be necessary in higher classes. These children work on our Merit Awards 2 and 3. They also concentrate working on the compilation of fairly simple routines. Routines are performed on each piece of apparatus in preparation for their Annual Class Championships. Badge scheme is worked for 2 terms and 1 term is solely for the class championships.

Saturday Top Basic (Class 3) 11.00am - 1.30pm
This class is for gymnasts who show extra effort and a higher level of skill than our younger class members. These gymnasts are prepared for floor & vault competitions or progression into our Artistic Squad structure. We invite the most promising gymnasts to trial for our squads. The trial lasts for 3 months, during which time we study the gymnasts' attitude towards competitive and disciplined training. We monitor each individual's skill growth before offering squad status. These gymnasts are encouraged to enter Novice Competitions outside our club. Work for the other part of the year is on their Class Championships where they compete against each other. Parents, friends and families are invited to be a part of the audience at these events. Badge scheme is worked for 2 terms and 1 term is solely for the class championships.
